Biography

After acquiring a Diploma of Applied Arts in Merchandising Administration at SAIT, I discovered that I had a love for accounting. That was the start of my career working in many offices and having my own business doing accounting. My work in offices was mainly in the oil industry but I also worked for a company that did work with adults with disabilities. For about three years I worked for a company where I had to supervise 23 individuals. I think with that and raising a family I learned a great deal about multi-tasking. It was not until we moved to High River that I got involved in Education. First, I studied and aquired a Certificate as a Teacher's Assistant by taking courses through Red Deer College. Over the next few years, I worked at Foothills Composite, Joe Clark and then Blackie. When the position of Office Administrator came open at Blackie, I was encouraged to apply and to my suprise I got the job. Since August 2005 I have worked as the Office Administrator at Blackie School.

At the present time I am working towards a Degree in General Studies and hope to complete that some time in the next few years. At that time I think that I will retire and enjoy the fact that I completed an education that I thought I should have got many years ago. Then I will spend time with my many grand children and keep up my favourite sport, golf.
